Study From the Book of the First Corinthians,10

                  Study From the Book of First Corinthians,10

In this tenth part of the series “Study from the Book of First Corinthians, we study chapter 9    and as usual we pick a couple of biblical principles and lessons that can be applied in biblical counselling.

In chapter 9, the apostle Paul deals with three main topics;

  1. Verse 1 to verse 18, the apostle Paul talks about self-denial.
  2. Verse 19 to 23 the apostle Paul  talks about him serving different people with different backgrounds
  3. Verse   24 to 27, he talks about his goal (he also encourages all of us) to strive for a Crown when we stand before Christ’s seat.

Principle 17, verse 9:17: “- For if I do this willingly, I have a reward; but if against my will, I have been entrusted with a stewardship.”

Lesson 17: It is a great privilege to serve the Lord, but it is also our solemn duty. The amazing thing is that God has promised to reward us richly for doing nothing but what we should do!

Principle 18, verse 9:24: “- Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it.”

Lesson 18: We will not accomplish much in life it we do not have a clear purpose and mission in mind. The only way to hit a target is to take careful aim. So what is your own life mission? 7/10/2018
