Study From the Book of First Corinthians,4
Today we study chapter 3 of this vital book of the Bible and as usual we pick up a couple of biblical principles and lessons that can be applied in biblical counselling.
In chapter 3, the apostle Paul deals with three main topics;
Principle 5, verse 3:3: “- For where there are envy, strife and division among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men?
Lesson 5: No Christian should ever gives excuses of living a sinful life, when he or she succumbs to some temptation. Only carnal Christians (who live for the desire of their flesh ie old men) could give such excuses. For the Spirit gives us the ability to do what “mere men” cannot do.
Principle 6, verse 3:16-17 : “- Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you.”
Lesson 6: a simple statement from the apostle Paul declares this biblical principle. The consequence of defiling the temple of God is grave as we learn from verse 17 that follows. God would destroy this temple as He did for Jerusalem temple. So be aware of this warning. 19/8/2018
