Study From the Book of Ezekiel,8

Study From the Book of Ezekiel,8

Today is the eighth   part of this series where we study chapter eight. We pick up a couple of biblical principles with lessons that can be useful in biblical counselling.

In this chapter, the prophet Ezekiel describes the abominations of the temple that warranted severe God judgement and destruction of the temple. All idolatry was forbidden, and any idol represented a violation of the loyalty that belonged to Israel’s God.

However, the people thought that just because the temple stood among them, whatever wrong they might do could not bring ultimate disaster. They thought the temple guaranteed their security, They did not realize that their evil had actually caused God  to leave His temple, which would then no longer be their protection.

Structure:

Verses 1-18: abominations of the temple.

Principles 14, verse 8:3 “-----the Spirit lifted me up between earth and heaven, and brought me in visions of God to Jerusalem.”

Lesson 14: Ezekiel gives us more vivid descriptions of the prophetic process than almost any other Old Testament prophet.  God speaks to us in uncounted ways. Are we watching and listening?

Principle 15, 8:17: “----Is it a trivial thing to the house of Judah to commit the abominations which commit here?”

Lesson 15: Sin is never a “trivial thing.” We may get so used to some offense that it seems harmless and even inconsequential, but God’s holy nature never changes. Sin never becomes acceptable to Him.  2/10/2022
