Study From the Book of Ezekiel,6
Today is the sixth part of this series where we study chapter six. We pick up a couple of biblical principles with lessons that can be useful in biblical counselling.
In this chapter, God judges idolatrous Israel. The Israelites adopted using high places to worship of the god of Baal and other deities with associated practices including sexual misconduct, sorcery, spiritism, snake worship and child sacrifices. So, God promises judgement on the nation. But He would leave a remnant of His people so they would remember the One true God among the other nations.
Structure:
Verses 1-14: judgment on idolatrous Israel.
Principle 10, verse 6:9 “-----I was crushed by their adulterous heart which has departed from Me, and by their eyes which play the harlot after their idols.”
Lesson 10: The Lord has a staggering emotional investment in His relationship with us. He created us to connect with Him on a heart-to-heart level, and when we give our hearts to something else, it deeply grieves Him.
Principle 11, 6:14: “----Then they shall know that I am the Lord.”
Lesson 11: This phrase recurs throughout the Book of Ezekiel. Over and over again God says that He will execute mighty judgement and secure redemption so that the whole world will know that He alone is God. 4/9/2022
