Study From the Book of Ezekiel,45
Today is the forty-fifth part of this series where we study chapter 45. Here we pick up one biblical principle and its lesson which is useful in biblical counselling.
The city is not named, but Earthy Jerusalem is most likely which will be in correspondent to Heavenly Jerusalem in the millennium when the Lord Jesus will reign physically for 1000 years as mentioned before. The temple will be in the middle of the city.
The identity of the prince is not known but he is not the Lord Jesus as the prince and other leaders will offer sacrifices for their sins. As mentioned before these sacrifices will be in remembrance of the Lord Jesus when He sacrificed Himself once for all.
In this millennium the merchants are exhorted to use accurate measures, and fair weights. The prince receives offerings who unlike previous rulers, will be just and truthful. The prince in turn will make offerings to God (the Lord Jesus) in order to make atonement for the house of Israel.
The feasts of Passover and Tabernacles are observed. The dates are in relation to the Levitical calenderer, the Jewish religious year. The procedures as well are very similar to those of the Mosaic system. These feasts commemorate God’s faithfulness to His promises.
Structure:
Verses 1-5: the holy district
Verses 6-8: properties of the city and the prince
Verses 9-17: laws governing the prince
Verses 18-25: keeping the feasts.
Principle 67: verse 45:9 — “—Thus says the Lord God: ‘enough O princes of Israel! Remove violence and plundering, execute justice and righteousness, and stop dispossessing My people’ says the Lord God.”
Lesson 67: Although this verse will be in the millennium, it can be applied today. The leaders and the princes should fear God and be fair and just to the people they govern. God’s rules are always the same: yesterday, today, and forever (16/07/2023).
