Study From the Book of Ezekiel,42
Today is the forty-second part of this series where we study chapter 42. Here we pick up one biblical principle and its lesson which, is useful in biblical counselling.
To the north and south of the courtyard separating the temple and the western building is a building for the priests. These places for certain priests to eat and change clothes, indicating the rooms also provide storage facilities for the holy food offerings and priestly garments.
Interesting to notice no mention here of the High Priest. Obviously, the reason for that is this new temple will be built in the millennium, the one thousand years after the rapture of the Church and the great tribulation, when the Lord Jesus will reign and He Himself will be the High Priest besides being the king of kings and the lord of lords.
Structure:
Verses 1-14: the champers for the priests.
Verses 15-20: outer dimensions of the temple.
Principle 64: verse 42:14 — “When the priests enter them, they shall not go out of the holy chamber into the outer court, but they shall leave their garments in which they minster for they are holy---- ”
Lesson 64: We need to be serious when we approach the Holy God. The holy clothes that the priests have to wear are symbols of what we need to present ourselves to God in pure hearts. Because the priests have to enter the holy inner places of the temple, so their clothes are holy and should be taken off before they face people. (25/06/2023).
