Study From the Book of Ezekiel,39
Today is the thirty-ninth part of this series where we study chapter 39. Here we pick up one biblical principle and its lesson which is useful in biblical counselling.
After the destruction of Gog’s army, burial will be necessary for reasons of sanitation as well as consecration.
Ezekiel prophesied God’s judgement against Gog the prince of the land of Magog. Ezekiel uses Gog and Magog as a metaphor for vast armies invading Israel from the north in the end time. They oppose God and seek to destroy His people of Israel, but God promises to deliver them. In the Book of Revelation, Gog and Magog become symbolic names for evil nations deceived by Satan and opposed to God and the kingdom of Christ (Rev. 20:8).
Structure:
Verses 1-10: Gog’s armies destroyed.
Verses 11-16: the burial of Gog.
Verses 17-20: a triumphant festival
Verses 21-29: Israel restored to the land.
Principle 61: verse 39:22 — “So the house of Israel shall know that I am the Lord their God from the day forward.”
Lesson 61: We do not know why God waits to do some of the good things He promised to do, but we can have total confidence that He will bring all of them about in His perfect time. He calls us to wait and to trust(4/6/2023).
