Study From the Book of Ezekiel,38
Today is the thirty-eighth part of this series where we study chapter 38. Here we pick up two biblical principles and their lessons which are useful in biblical counselling.
In this chapter, Ezekiel prophesies an infinite time period extending into sometimes distant future or the end time. At that time, Israel is secure nation lives in peace without walls. Then comes this attack from Gog and allies from all directions from the east Persia, Ethiopia, and Russa.
Gog’s attack is not predicted; however, God foresees, predicts and controls. God defends His nation against Gog and his army with supernatural and earth-shaking methods. Ezekiel uses language similar of that used in the destruction of Sodom in Gen.19-24 indicating God’s wrath poured on the enemy . This terrible battle will reveal God’s might to the entire world and His concern for His people.
Structure:
Verses 1-17: Gog and allies attack Israel.
Verses 18-23: judgement on Gog.
Principle 59: verse 38:16 — “It will be in the latter days that I will bring you against My Land, so that the nations may know Me, when I am hallowed in you, O Gog, before their eyes.”
Lesson 59: Just as God used stubborn Pharaoh to gain glory for Himself in the eyes of the watching nations, so will He use “Gog” one day to again gain glory for Himself on the world stage.
Principle 60: verse 38:23: ---” This will magnify Myself and sanctify Myself, and I will be known in the eyes of many nations. Then they shall know that I am the Lord.”
Lesson 60: The entire world has always been in the crosshairs of God’s divine sights. He wants to bless and favour the whole earth with His glory, and bring all nations into a joyful and obedient walk with Him.28/05/2023.
