Today is the thirty-seventh part of this series where we study chapter 37. Here we pick up two biblical principles and their lessons which are useful in biblical counselling.

In this famous chapter Ezekiel had vision of dry bones that brought to live by the Holy Spirit who breathed to bones. The bones symbolize the whole house of Israel. However, the vision carries the image of those:

• Identified as dry or spiritually dead.
• Identified as despondent and dejected with no hope
• Described as disassembled or dispensed

The major thrust of this passage   is the coming spiritual rebirth of God’s chosen people through the agency of His Spirit.

The chapter ends by prophesying of the end of the age when the Lord Jesus will come to earth and will reign on Israel from Jerusalem in the millennium after the rapture of the Church and the great tribulation.

Structure:

Verses 1-14: the dry bones live.

Verses 15-28: one kingdom and One king.

Principle 57: verse 36:6 — “I will put sinews on you and bring flesh upon you, cover you with skin and put breath in you and you shall live. Then you shall know that I am the Lord.

Lesson 57: this passage looks forward to a day when God will gather the remnant of His ancient people to Israel again. He will breathe new life into them in such a way that the whole world will recognise the miraculous hand of God.

Principle 58: verse 37:21: ---” Surely I will take the children of Israel from among the nations, wherever they have gone, and will gather them from every side and bring them into their own land---”

Lesson 58: No other nation in history has ever come back into existence after disappearing from the world stage for nineteen brutal centuries -but Israel did in 1948. God will yet fulfil all His promises to His ancient people.14/5/2023.
