Study From the Book of Ezekiel,30

Study From the Book of Ezekiel,30

Today is the thirtieth part of this series where we study chapter 30. Here we pick up one biblical principle and its lesson which are useful in biblical counselling.

Ezekiel talks about the Day of the Lord. In this context it refers to the period of divine wrath on the nation of Egypt. Later in this chapter, Ezekiel refers to it as the Day of Egypt.

This prophecy refers to Pharaoh Hophra’s unsuccessful attempt to relieve the siege of Jerusalem. Then God used Nebuchadnezzar to defeat the Egyptian army. God had broken Pharaoh’s arm symbolized his complete defeat.

Structure:

Verses 1-19: Egypt and Her allies will fall

Verses 2026: proclamation against Pharaoh

Principle 47, verse 30:20-21“—the word of the Lord came to me, I have broken the arm of Pharaoh king of Egypt---”

Lesson 47: Ezekiel received this prophecy on 587 B.C. when God proclaimed His wrath against Egypt.  God is a sovereign God and His ways are above our understandings. When we read about wars and rumours of wars, we should not fall into despair. We need to remember that God is in control even on military conflicts. We need to pray that God’s will should be done in earth as in heaven (Matt, 6:10)   12/3/2023.
