Study From the Book of Ezekiel,27
Today is the twenty-seventh part of this series where we study chapter 27. Here we pick up one biblical principle and its lesson which are useful in biblical counselling.
This chapter is a continuation of the previous one as Ezekiel laminates tyre (even before it fell). It was a wealthy city and their citizens were proud and saw themselves as the finest example of merchant (ship) in the ancient world, but it fell because of its sins and its people rejoiced for the fall of Judah.
Tyre’s neighbours would be greatly troubled by Tyre’s defeat, but soon they would turn against Tyre themselves in the vain hope of escaping a similar fate at the hands of the Babylonians.
Structure:
Verses 1-36: lamentation for Tyre
Principle 43, verse 27:36 “—The merchants among the people will hiss at you; you will become a horror, and be no more forever.”
Lesson 43: Despite a fabulous location and plenty of fresh water available, God foretold, and that Tyre would cease to be a city and remain a desolation forever. So, He spoke, and has been even to this day. 19/2/2023.
