Study From the Book of Ezekiel,21
Today is the twenty first part of this series where we study chapter 21. Here we pick up one biblical principle and its lesson which are useful in biblical counselling.
Israel failed the test. The sword would strike God’s people, especially the nation’s rulers. False messianic hopes related to Judah were corrected, when Jerusalem was overthrown in 586 B.C.by Nebuchadnezzar. Because of their sins, the Davidic king-line and the Levitical priesthood would be interrupted until the One, the Lord Jesus comes who will be decaled by the heaven as the everlasting high priest and the king of all.
Structure:
Verses 1-27: Babylon, the sword of God.
Verses 28-32: a sword against the Ammonites.
Principle 35, verse 21: 27 “—It shall be no longer, until He comes whose right it is, and I will give it to Him.”
Lesson 35: With the destruction of Jerusalem by the Babylonians, the line of David ceased to rule on Israel’s throne. According to this prophecy, no other Davidic king will rule until Jesus Christ- and His rule will last forever(8/1/2023).
