Study From the Book of Colossians, 3
Today is the third part of this series where we study chapter two. In chapter two the apostle Paul continues to talk about the characters of the Lord Jesus as the head of the Church.
He is the fullness of God’s wisdom and the Fullness of the Holy Spirit. And also the fullness of God’s power as He disarmed the dark principalities and made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them (verse 2:15).
So, as usual we pick up a couple of biblical principles and lessons that can be applied in biblical counselling.
The structure of this chapter is as follows:
Principle 3: 2:6: “ – As you have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord , so walk in Him.”
Lesson 3: How we receive Jesus as our Lord and Saviour? By faith. And that is exactly how we grow into maturity (progressive sanctification).
Principle 4 : 2: 9: “ For in Him dwells all the fullness of God-head bodily....”
Lesson 4: It may be impossible to understand how Jesus could be totally human and totally divine, but that is the clear teaching of Scripture. “He who has seen me has seen the Father.” Jesus said in John 14:9. 4/8/2019
