Study From the Book of Colossians, 1
Today we start the first part of this new series. And as usual, we start with the introduction. The Apostle Paul’s epistle to Colossians is a twin epistle of the Ephesians. While the epistle to Ephesians explains the Church of Christ (a mystery not known in the OT) as a body of Christ, his epistle to Colossians highlights the characters of the Lord Jesus as the Head of the Church.
The Lord Jesus is the exact image of Almighty God. God, the creator of the Universe, holds everything together. Christ is the Savoir. After he rose from the dead, He is now on the right hand of God intercedes for His people.

Time: most likely written when Paul was in prison in Rome around A.D 60-62
Structure: in two parts
Chapter 1-2: doctrinal, while chapter one looks at the identity of Christ. Chapter 2 describes a growing relationship with God through Christ.
Chapter 3:4: practical, to apply the doctrines covering the various functions of the members of a Christian household. 21/7/2019
