Study in the Book of Amos,6

Study  From the Book of Amos,6*

Principle eleven (7:14): I was no prophet, nor was a son of a prophet, but I was a sheep breeder and a tender of sycamore fruit.”

Lesson eleven: all the prophets of the Old Testament were graduates from what was called those days as “School of Prophets,” except Amos. God wants to each us something today, which is regardless of who you are or what you do for  living, God wants to use you  to bring the Good News to those around you , and ultimately to the whole world . If you love Christ, you are God’s ambassador (2 Cor.  5:20).

Principle twelve (8:11): “Behold, the days are coming, ‘says the Lord God,’ that I will send a famine on the land, not a famine of bread, not a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord.”

Lesson twelve: from the time of the prophet Malachi to the time of John the Baptist, - a period of around 500 years – the draught withered the land, preparing the land to the first coming of the Messiah, Our Lord Jesus.  Now, while we are waiting for His second coming there is currently a famine to the Word of God as ever has happened before, let us feast on God’s Word and avoid a similar draught in our souls.
