Study From the Book of Ephesians, 7
Today is the seventh and the final part of the series, “Study from the Book of Ephesians.” We study chapter 6 and as usual, we pick up a couple of biblical principles and lessons that can be applied in biblical counselling. Remind our readers that those biblical principles and lessons can be applied either as self-help and /or in counselling others.
The main idea of chapter six is the spiritual warfare. The apostle Paul argues the believer to put on the whole armour of God to be able to stand against the vigorous opposition of the devil at the evil times.
The structure of this chapter is as follows:
Principle 11, verse 6:10: “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His mighty.”
Lesson 11: The only way to really be strong is to depend upon the unlimited power of God. We draw on His strength by faith, asking Him to supply us with the resources we lack so that we might be strong in Him and for Him.
Principle 12, verse 6:18 “...praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all saints...”
Lesson 12: no one of us can long survive, let alone prosper, without the sincere prayers offered on our behalf. God has designed the Christians life as a community event , not as a solo endeavour.
