                     Study From the Book of Ephesians,1

Today is the first part of the series, “Study from the Book of Ephesians.” Today also is the Easter Sunday for the eastern churches. So let us celebrate the resurrection of the Lord and saviour, Jesus Christ.

In the first part of this series, as usual, we start with an introduction.   It is no doubt, the epistle  was written by the Apostle Paul , as we see from verse 1 of the first chapter,while he was a prisoner in Rome around A.D 60-62.

In this epistle, Paul talks about the Church as the mystery that was not revealed in the OT . It is the body of Christ,unites the jewfish and gentiles.

However,the Ephesians is addressed to a group of believers ( so it is also for us) rich beyond measure in Jesus Christ, but who continue to live as beggars. Why do they remain in spiritual poverty? Because they remain ignorant of their true wealth.

Themes: the spiritual bounty of the Christians and the unity of the church in Jesus Christ.

Structure:

Chapter 1 to 3:the richness we have in Christ: adoption, acceptance, redemption, forgiveness, wisdom, inheritance, the seal of The Holy Spirit, life , grace, citizenship – in short , every spiritual blessings.

Chapter 4-6:  Paul lays out a spiritual walk rooted in the spiritual wealth.

The key verse of the Book: “ For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works ... that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2: 10. 28/4/2019
