Study From the Second Epistle of Paul to Timothy,4
As we continue in this series, we study now chapter 3. In this chapter, Paul talks about the hard time which will come at the end of age waiting for the second coming of our Lord.
In this perilous time, Paul lists a few characters which can be read in the first passage of this chapter. However Paul does not leave us confused and worried of what is going to be in this time but gives a model and solution: the model of the characters of man of God and the solution: Timothy as a man of God should carefully follow what he learned and seen from Paul. Paul then codes: the scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof , for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete thoroughly equipped for ever good work (verse 16,17) .
Structure:
Verse 1: 9: perilous times and perilous men
Verse 10: 17: the man of God and the word of God.
Principle 5: verse 3:12: “-yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.”
Lesson 5: this is a promise of God that we usually try to avoid. God tells us this not to discourage us , but to be prepared for the inevitable so that we can shine for Him when times comes.
Principle 6: verse 16,17: “All the scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof , for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete thoroughly equipped for ever good work.”
Lesson 6: the Scripture was inspired by God. It is given to us to correct us when we are wrong. It helps us to grow and to become effective in godliness and good work.
